Ketan Bacchuwar, PhD is a Co-Founder and CTO at Crosscope, a medical AI software startup that is revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. With a background in applied mathematics, engineering, computer science, and medicine, Ketan has spent the last 10 years exploring diverse applications like optical character recognition, object detection, digital forensics, autonomous navigation, and medical image analysis. During his PhD, he conceptualized modeling of procedures in interventional cardiology using image processing techniques, which could be a foundation for robotic assistance or automatic documentation of coronary interventional procedures. Ketan's interests lie in medical image analysis, image processing, computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, and optimization. He is a Senior Software Engineer and Research Scientist with 4.44 years of relevant experience. Ketan has worked as a Software Engineer at General Electric and also served as a PhD Candidate in a partnership between GE Healthcare (Buc, France) and ESIEE, University Paris-Est. His doctoral thesis was on image processing for the semantic analysis of the progress of interventional procedures in cardiology. Ketan's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Medical Image Processing from Université Paris-Est, a Master's degree (M2) in Applied Mathematics to Computer Vision and Machine Learning from Université Paris-Saclay (formerly École Normale Supérieure de Cachan), and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIT Warangal. At Crosscope, Ketan is leading the development of digital pathology workflows and AI-based cancer diagnostic tools for hospitals and diagnostic labs to augment pathology. With his expertise in AI, image processing, and computer vision, Ketan is committed to exploring and contributing to the interdisciplinary research field of medical image processing.
